Definition of Legal Terms: Negligence

The term Negligence means...
failure to use ordinary or reasonable care. It is either doing something that a reasonable, careful person would not do, or the failure to do something that a reasonable, careful person would do, under all of the circumstances of the case. A person may assume that every other person will use reasonable care, unless a reasonable, careful person has cause for thinking otherwise.
